What Is A Concentration Gradient

Education : Biology

This refers to a situation whereby the concentration of a particle in one place is less than elsewhere, for instance in a liquid if a crystal is dissolving.

Particles will always tend to move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration, as long as this gradient exists.
