Search for some independent advice with regards to transferring your pension overseas. Also check with the Department of Work and Pensions to see what State Pension agreements are in place with your chosen country. Make sure you inform HM Revenue & Customs, the Department for Work and Pensions as well as your social security office when you move, and give them your new contact details. Find out about your welfare rights abroad, as some UK benefits are not payable outside of the country. Inform all your banks that you have an agreement with as well. Contact your local council and leave them a forwarding address. Make sure you tell your doctor and dentist that you are moving away, and it is a good idea to research the healthcare services in your new country of residence. Ask around and get recommendations. Always plan ahead, be organised and prepare for what ifs.
