However, you should try to ensure that there is variety in the diet so that the parrot has a mixture of fruit, vegetables and so on. Many people say to feed a parrot the food that you eat, but this is just not true. For instance, things like chocolate or alcohol should certainly never be fed to your parrot. If you do offer your own food then ensure that it is a small portion and is fresh. If cooked meat for instance is left in the cage it can go off quite quickly.
