What To Feed Your Rabbit

Pets : Other Pets

As well as their usual dry rabbit food mix, you can feed them a little bit of fruit and vegetables on occasions.

You can give them a bit of fresh grass as well. Avoid dried fruits where possible as they have a higher sugar level in.

Vegetables they can eat are:

Alfalfa, radish & clover sprouts
Basil
Broccoli (mostly leaves or stems)
Brussels sprouts
Carrot & carrot tops
Celery
Clover
Dandelion greens and flowers (you can usual find these in veg section of supermarkets)
Green peppers
Mustard greens
Parsley
Pea pods (the flat and edible kind)
Peppermint leaves
Radicchio
Radish tops
Raspberry leaves
Red or Green Leaf lettuce
Romaine lettuce (not iceberg lettuce)
Spinach
Watercress
Wheat grass

Fruits they can eat are:

Apple
Blueberries
Melon
Orange (its very important you remove the peel as it has pesticides on sometimes)
Papaya
Peach
Pear
Pineapple
Plums
Raspberries
Strawberries

You should always provide your rabbit with fresh hay and plenty of water on a daily basis. Young rabbits should have hay as an option as soon as they can feed on their own.
