This was a key turning point, as it made people look for proper explanations, even if wrong ones, than to blame on the supernatural It also emphasised observing the whole patient, and all the symptoms. These were carefully recorded and only then would the illness be diagnosed and treated where possible. To this day doctors take the Hippocratic Oath to behave always in the best interests of the patient.
