Why You Should Not Use Peat
| Gardening : Gardens Up until a few years ago, many gardeners used peat and in large amounts too. The reason was simple - it is great for growing plants and was therefore a real help in the garden and getting some potentially difficult plants to grow. However it has been identified as a resource that cannot be renewed - once used the peat from the peat bogs is gone forever, and for that reason you should now look to use alternatives instead of peat, of which there are luckily many.
