Beyond that obvious tip though, the most important thing that you need is focus and concentration. Particularly if you are playing games with others in a social environment, there may be many distractions - banter between players, drinks, perhaps sound and music in the background, and more besides. The key is to remain focussed on the game in hand, particularly with a game where you need to know the cards that have gone so far and use an element of memory and do some working out. Train yourself to block out all the unnecessary information that will not help you achieve your aim or goal, and you should have a much better chance of winning as a result.
