| Games : Puzzles If you play scrabble games for fun then you will know that even they can be quite competitive and you really want to win! The first tip is to make sure that you learn some obscure two and three letter words - these always come in handy! As another tip, try to always play on double or triple squares to increase your score. Actively look out for these as soon as you have a high scoring letter - for instance '4' upwards. If you can get an 'X' on a triple letter score, then you will have 24 points straight out! The next tip is to look for crossovers of your high letters. For instance, if you can get your 'X' into two words, then it will double score - 8 in each word. If it's on a treble, then you get six times the total - 48 for just one letter nevermind the rest of the word. Look for interlacing, and adding plurals - for instance 's' on the end. Also often you can add at the start of the word, or make a present tense word past tense, for instance turn 'last' to 'lasted' or 'list' to 'enlist' at the front of the word. Finally, try to always have a good mix of consonants and vowels - don't play too many at once as then when you pick up you are in danger of having an imbalance which can make it really hard to play high scoring words.
