How To Work Out A Percentage
| Education : Maths If you are given a percentange question, many people find them difficult to do. The best way to work out the method for a question like this is to think of a simple example and do it in your head, and then work out what the formula is from that. So for instance, if you are asked "what is 5 as a percentage of 10" then without doing any working out you just know that the answer is 50%. Then just work out the method to get fifty percent and you realise it is: the new figure divided by the old figure, times 100 Which is in other words: 5/10 * 100 which of course is 50% Now just apply the same formula to any questions with more obscure percentages to work out.
