| Career : Working Abroad One thing that you will need to work abroad is of course your work permit. If you have your heart set on working in a particular place then be sure to do research into how to get a permit and if there are likely to be any complications in good time - this can save you a lot of time, energy and heartache down the line if it turns out that you cannot get one for where you are interested in working. Of course if you are in the UK and going to work in the EU then you won't need a work permit or Visa. But even in some mainstream countries it can be hard to get a work permit as for instance the employer may need to prove that there are not any local people who can do the job that they are advertising - e.g. America!
