How To Write A Web Site About A Dull Or Dry Topic

Computing : Website Topics And Subjects

Some topics lend themselves to the web.

Concepts that require imagery or graphics and diagrams in full colour and perhaps interactive elements really do well on the web and liven up the dull and passive black and white copy that you see in the pages of a book.

But what about some dry topics that you might want to write about; perhaps some dense philosophical concept? These are hard to read on the web.

Well the first tip is to split the content up into digestible chunks. Rather than one long page, have several smaller byte sized chunks that are easier to manage.

Secondly try to stay on topic and on theme but add in a little humour to the mix, just to break things up every now and then.

You can also use a little extra colour to add visual interest, for instance with bold keywords or similar.

Finally, consider adding in a couple of images or pictures just to break up the text.
