How To Write A Winning Slogan
Hobbies : Competitions Many competitions ask you to write a quick slogan to win the prize. Many people see that in horror and decide not to enter - they know they won't be chosen. For the skilled comper though this is just what you want to see - something that tests your skill rather than a free for all competition that is just pot luck. Take the time to construct a good slogan and your chances of winning come up from 1 in 10,000 for a standard competition to perhaps 1 in 100 with a good slogan. Ensure that you give yourself the best chance of winning. How? First, go for rhyming - it's safe and all people who judge these competitions (who have no literally skill in the main) will find rhyming pleasant on the ear - it is an easy win, in other words. Next, try to mention the product or something product related in the slogan whether this is explicitly asked for or not. This will get good brownie points. Finally, a little play on words or mis-pronunciation of a word to make a pun works wonders and will give a laugh - and the judge will feel clever for having worked out your pun! Again, more good marks. Bottom line: if you think what you write is too obscure, contrived or sounds too corny, then it is: try again. Think about: running it past some friends and family. A strained 'it's ok' means it's rubbish and you should try again...
