How To Write An Essay

Education : Essays

1.) Choose your question, read it a few times and ensure you understand it. If it is a long/complex question, think about how to break it down into smaller questions.

2.) Research - research secondary sources and make notes. This process should also inspire you to think of a few general ideas and ways to link the various critics' comments etc.

3.) Make an essay plan - here you can organise the order of topics, group your ideas together and create an overall structure for the essay.

4.) Begin writing the essay! Don't worry too much about the introduction and conclusion initially as they can both be altered after the main body of the essay itself is written.

5.) Edit and revise it until it sounds wonderful (or at least as wonderful as it can be!)
