Your CV Is A Sales Document

Career : CV

One of the best ways to look at the CV and to work out what it is for and how to write it is to remember that the CV is a sales document.

But unlike some object or something like that you are selling something far more important - yourself.

Viewed in this light it can help you focus in on what is important and what sort of things you should put in there.

It becomes obvious the employer is looking for the skill set that they think best suits their needs for this job and also the necessary experience as required; so you need to highlight your own features and benefits, as it were.

It may sound a strange way to look at it, but it helps you be objective and more dispassionate about yourself and therefore can help you to hone in on what is important and what you should really list on your CV.
