Removing Limescale

Hi, I used limescale remover by mistake on the taps and shower control panel in my bathroom. It was left on for over half an hour and there are now dull stains and brown spots that I'm unable to remove. It's almost as if the limescale cleaner has burnt away the top layer of the stainless steel. I've tried using, vinegar, lemon juice and products such as autosol to no avail.

Can you help?
