How to calm down a horse

i understand you can give ginger to horses to calm them down quickly, if so how much and how often is it given?

Re calming a horse - the most important thing is that you yourself are calm, because animals can pick up on our emotions and that can directly affect them too.

Any sort of treat or hay can work well to calm your horse down, as can a re-assuring rub on the neck.
