How to clean food spillages

how do I remove pasta sauce from a cream 80% wool 20% carpet?

Question From: Mrs Stephanie Todd - Sep 22nd 2004

Replies:

First remove any loose sauce that has stained by blotting with kitchen paper.

Try to lift residue as soon as possible.

Then use a little detergent added to warm water, and scrub thoroughly over the affected area and leave for a while.

Then blot as normal and you should find that most of the stain has gone.

For tough stains use a little hydrogen peroxide though be sure not to bleach the colour from the carpet in the process as you remove the sauce stain!
