Found someone I like

hi there is some one i have come across that i like. i feel embarresed as im 16 and never asked anyone out. i like her but not really spoken to her as ive only been at college for a week. i want to try to get to know her but i dont know what to sayas i always think people will be put off because they think im ugly. thats why i never asked anyone out before. what can i o and do you have any tips and advice forme thanks.
