Over hair colored salon. remove gold

Over a year ago I had my hair colored at a salon. I did not remove my gold chain and as a result it was dyed also. I have tried cleaning it with the sonic cleaner several times with no change. I've checked google and could not find an answer to this question. Does anyone know how to remove hair dye from a gold chain? Thanks.
