How to overcome spicy soup

What do you do if your soup is too spicy? Will the potato trick work?

Making soup less spicy can be tricky, as it depends largely on the soup that you are making.

One method that often works is to add a little brown sugar to the soup. This will sweeten and make it a less spicy soup in general.

Another tip to try to make soup less spicy would be to add a little cream, which again should neutralise some of the spicy contents.
