Remove sour smells and odours

How do I get rid of sour milk smells from a wall to wall carpet when you do not know exactly where the spill was? If white vinger will do the trick how much and do I mix it with water, or put it in a home carpet cleaning machine....

To remove sour smells and odours from carpets, then try this simple tip:

Mix up some baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) with warm water, and then rub in over the affected carpet or area with the milk or other sour stain.

This should help to neutralise the odour as it is mild alkali in nature and this will neatralise the sour, bitter milky smell that you can get in the air.
