Hi Sean, don't worry i'm exactly the same. I like my appearance but these awful spots don't help at all! I'm not a guy but i'm sure the advice is the same. First it depends on what type of spots you have. For scars, lavendar oil works. If it doesn't and your desperate, you can get treatment like lazer treatment but I would only recommend it in extreme circumstances. For normal spots, I use "Roll on Blemish stick with tea tree oil" from Holland and Barrets. Its a clear glass-looking tube with a white lid about 3 inches long. This stuff works WONDERS and I use it 4 times a week or so only on areas where theres a spot or where I normally break out. Its very strong smelling, but you get used to it after a while. Apply it before you go to bed, and if neccessary, in the morning. Now Holland and Barrets is preety crap, so it might be difficult to find and you may have to ask for it. This is quite embarrassing but its only ever old ladies behind the counter, so whats a bit of embarassment for clear skin? Honestly I highly reccommend it. If you really can;t bring yourself to do it, get your mum to do it, or convice someone else (with clear skin so they wont be embarrassed).
Im not sure if you have acne or not but if you do I don't recommend using creams or remidies on it. ESPECIALLY NOT TOOTHPASTE. If it is acne or extreme spots i'm afraid the best remidie is going to the doctors. A bit embarrassing, but if your as hot as you say you are, the ugly doctor won't pity you! Ask for Panoxzyl, I think its called. Its a gel-like cream (to be used sparingly) that works wonders on extreme spots or mild acne.
Well, thats all I can suggest, hope it goes well. xxx
