How to tell a reputable model agency?
How do i tell what is a good agency or not? The agency that has offered me a place seems quite professional in their office and personnel etc. but are problematic to contact via email or phone. Also, they don't have a website, which makes me wonder if this affects the amount of work they might get? They said they had about 60 models on their books - I thought that a smaller number would be better though someone told me this was very small

If in any doubt, then they probably aren't reputable.
First, search the internet and check out their website if they have one, most good agencies should have one.
Then search google or other search engine for any horror stories about that agency or stories about their models getting work - this is a good form of research.
Ask to speak to existing customers who are pleased with their service.
Finally if they charge you money to join there is less chance they will get you work as they have already made money from you - whereas those that don't charge are better because in this instance they only get money when they get you work which is of course much more of an incentive for them to try to get you work!
