Classicism And Realism In Art

We have seen that realism in the 17th century fell into two distinct schools of thought - one of which is termed naturalism as discussed in another article in this section.

The other prevalent school was called Classicism.

In this school images revert back to the high renaissance practice and characteristics.

Thus you can expect to see lovely glowing colours and figures in this art, and clear gestures and manners.
