To stretch these muscles as part of your warm up exercises to keep yourself flexible, use the following method:
Sit up and spread legs; try to get them as wide as possible.
Then, reach your right hand down to your left foot, and then flex the foot and hold for 20. Point the toe and stretch for ten.
Then repeat the whole stretch, but this time with the other arm and foot - that is with your left arm moving towards your right foot.
