How Many Students Take A Gap Year

Travel : Gap Years

If you are considering a gap year, it can be very interesting to know just how many people do it.

Is it the majority of students, or just a few?

Well the answer is that it is a sizeable minority.

According to the figures, it is thought that around 24% of students who went into higher education for 2006 deferred a year, in the majority of cases this means that they were taking a gap year.

Other students don't take gap years but still travel - there may be three months before going to university and long summer holidays which are more than enough time in which to also travel and do things that are productive with time.

It is also worth noting that the trend seems to be going up year on year - that is more and more people are deciding to take a gap year.
