Cupcakes

Makes 24

Ingredients:
6oz butter
6oz sugar
6oz self raising flour
2-3 medium eggs
Icing sugar
Water
Decoration for top (optional)
Equipment:
Kitchen scale
Wooden spoon or electric mixer
Oven
24 bun cases
Teaspoon
Spoon
Table spoon
Two baking trays
Two big bowls and one normal sized one
Cooling rack
Apron (optional)


Cupcakes
Ever wanted to make simple cupcakes? Here's how:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius.
Step 2: Weigh out 6oz of butter on a kitchen scale, and put it into a large bowl.
Step 3: Weigh out 6oz of sugar and put it into the bowl with the butter.
Step 4: Mix the butter and sugar together until there are no lumps and the mixture is like a paste.
Step 5: Weigh 6oz of flour and sift it into the large bowl with the butter and sugar.
Step 6: Mix until all of the flour it part of the mixture.
Step 7: Get 2-3 medium sized eggs and crack them into a separate bowl. Fish out any shells with a teaspoon. Pour into the mixture.
Step 8: Stir until light and fluffy. This may take a quarter of an hour, so if your arm gets tired ask a friend to help you! (It help if you have an electric mixer to do the hard work for you!)
Step 9: Put your mixture in to bun cases in the baking tray. Make sure you don't fill them up to the top - they'll rise in the oven!
Step 10: Put the baking trays into the oven (with oven gloves on!) and leave to bake. They will take 12 minutes minimum and 20 minutes maximum. Only take them out when they are golden brown!
Step 11: With oven gloves, take the cupcakes out of the oven. Take them out of the baking tray and put them on a cooling rack. Leave for 10 minutes to cool.
Icing
Step 1: Get a bowl and put a genorous amount of icing sugar in (Sorry! I don't have the measurements! If you don't have enough icing, you can always make more!)
Step 2: Pour one table spoon of water in with the icing sugar. Mix. Keep doing this until it is a thick liquid that isn't too runny. If you make it too runny, add more icing sugar.
Step 3: Put the icing on the cupcakes using a spoon.
Step 4: (Optional) decorate to preference.
Step 5: (The best part!) Eat, and enjoy!
