DIY Electrics

I've just bought & installed 3 remote controlled sockets. The pack, with remote, was cheap (£4.99)and so easy to set up. They will save me the hassle of moving stuff to reach sockets behind furniture, or the eyesore of extension leads trailing from behind, above, and below!

I have some light switches on walls where I would like to place a bookcase or similar; getting them re-located is expensive and disruptive. I wondered if I could have some similar remote switch(es) to turn lights on and off. Searched on-line: such remotes are available (as are replacement remote controlled light switches). But I have problems(1) I couldn't work out the methodology of installing them (and if they required re-wiring) (2) exactly what I need to purchase to control 1 or more lightswitches. (3) They seemed to be expensive, i.e. £40 - 50 each. But for what? A 'convertor', remote..? I am confused.

Would be grateful for any enlightenment. Sylvia.
