It is not mass that decreases with height it is weight. Mass always remains constant.As height increases its PE increases and when it is release frm that height due to gravitational force it falls,means whatever PE stored is now converted into KE due to its falling velocity and due to resistance frm earths atmosphere it is mostly converted into heat energy. | |

U must know that mass always remain constant in universe .it is the weight which get change according to he change in the position of the object with respect to the centre of the earth. | |
