How to clean urine stains

OK so this one sounds a little bit gross.

But all the same it is a fact of life that babies and very young children can do this by accident, then what do you do to clean it up so that there isn't a horrible yellow colour, stain and that smell for weeks to come?

The key is to act fast.

As soon as you can soak up as much as possible with kitchen paper or other.

But then what?

Well apparently if you use a strongly sparkling mineral water and place that over the area, then scrub very gently before blotting it up again, then this will both get rid of the smell and the stain.

Pet urine, especially a cat's is really difficult to clean. I know the best method. Sop up what you can with kitchen paper, then clean with a commercial enzyme cleaner, which you can buy from pet shops. The enzyme cleaner will clean the mess and neutralize the odor, whereas ordinary cleaners will simply clean the mess and leave the odor to linger.

What I can say is: Avoid using ammonia based products to clean dog urine. One of the ingredients of dog urine is ammonia and he may well be encouraged to re-offend in the same area.
