Snails and slugs are generally bad news for green plants as they will eat the leaves of the plants.

They may eat the whole plant or just choose the parts they like, often leading to the death of those parts. If you have lovely flowers and they eat the petals it can be particularly annoying, I had an iris destroyed in this way earlier in the year that only flowers for a few days each year and I was looking forward to!

Luckily there are lots of ways of getting rid of slugs and snails like slug pellets.
