i have jus done an experiment with cottton, linen, jute and raffia threads (threads were similar width to sewing thread) i have found that the thread with the greatest tensile strenght was raffia, followe by jute, cotton andthen linen.
the threads with the greatest extension was linen, jute, cotton and then raffia. i have plotted a line graph that shows that the steeper the gradient is, the higher the strech ability the fibre has.
i need to know the answrs to these 2 question:
1.Explain the results as much as you can commenting on the mention of width of the plnat fibres, relative amount of xylem in fire, type of plant and the fibre it came from etc ....
2.how do the results relate to the physical characteristics of the fibre and the commercial use of the fibres ?
please can u answer theses for me
it would take a load of my mind
thank u sooo much
