Religion is real in the sense that people really believe in what religions teach and that people came up with religion.

As a concept, then religion is as real as anything else in the world.

Whether the beliefs of each religion are "real" in the sense of true, which are not infact as obviously related as it might seem, then it is a matter of faith up to the individual what they want to believe, but religion is certainly real.
