Reusing ceiling panel as insulator

Hi,

I'm trying to refinish my basement living room's ceiling. I removed the 30 years old ceiling panels. I'm planning to put some sound insluation between the ceiling studs (QuietZone pink fiberglass), and drywall.

I noticed that without the ceiling tiles the noise from upstairs can be very loud, and I can see that the old panels were doing some noise reduction.

Could I reuse these panels and stuff them between the ceiling studs, together with the insulation (as another insulation layer)?

Thanks
