Safe to eat strawberries grown where fungus was?

I have a large trough in my garden in which I grew potatoes last year. Once they were finished, we left it empty for a bit, and loads of mushrooms grew allover it. We left them and they died and disappeared themselves. I recently planted lots of strawberry plants in the trough,and now I am wondering if they'll be ok to eat? I wouldn't want to get poinsoned by eating them after they've grown where whatever these mushroom things were! Sorry for the stupid question, I am a novice! Thank you for any help/advice!
