The End of Religion

It seems as though, in the west at least, religion is being pushed to the margins more and more. Many seem to reckon that the end of religion or organised religion at least is almost inevitable and will come about some time during this century.

If this happens the impact on society will be interesting - but will religion every disappear completely or will it always survive in one form or another?

Religion will probably be there and evident in one form or another whatever happens. I doubt it would ever get banned absolutely, but that would probably be counter productive anyway as it would make some people more determined.

It might be that massive organised religion goes away but people will always have private beliefs.

It seems very human to want explanations and whatever the rational arguments it is natural, seemingly almost innate for many to have a respect for nature or God or gods or some other supernatural entity.

I dont think that religion will end. We live our lives with a belief system that sort of governs our life. If there was no religion and no sort of law or rule to follow then, who knows of what this world is to become. There might be total chaos and life is probably not going to be worth living. Even the thought of God will still come in mind if there is no religion.
