Things to do and see in Brussels

I am off to Brussels quite soon for a short holiday.

Does anyone know anything about Brussels and things to do and see there?

I would be pleased to hear any ideas for things to do, the sites that you just must see! Generally I don't know much about Belgium but being on the Eurostar and therefore convenient to get to Brussels sounds like a good place for a weekend break, am I right?

There is a well known fountain there I think though it is small and not that interesting really.

There are also I think parliament buildings as in european parliament.

Also a couple of cathedrals there and also some interesting galleries.

Lots of people go there for chocolate and waffles and also I think there is a good range of drinks there too if you like alcohol and want to sample them all!

Hi Davey

Those were good tips thanks! There were some decent things to do in Brussels and there was a decent bus trip that took you around and about to things like the atomium which would have been a pain to get to otherwise like too far to walk from the centre of brussels for instance.

Overall I would say that going to brussels for a couple of nights is ideal - there is not enough there to hold your interest for a long time, but certainly it was enjoyable for a couple of nights.
