What age can you have children up to

I just wondered what age women can have children up to safely.

Is it something like about forty but then after that it is dangerous to have children?

I am starting a relationship with an older woman and so I just wanted to know if we wanted to have kids if it had to be straight away or what as I can't really ask her outright what age she can have children until as she will either freak out or feel insulted and think that I am basically just calling her old!

It's actually 31. After that there's a high risk of the child getting down syndrome.
