I have heard it said that you need modelling cards done if you want to be a model - but what exactly are modelling cards?

Are they like a modelling portfolio but just another name for it?

Be interesting to know

Modelling cards (or comp / zed cards) a.k.a.Composite cards
are a must for all serious models

They consist of 2 - 4 pics of yourself plus your basic stats and contact details

they needn't cost a lot
but are useful to hand out to potential employers / agencies

do your research, get different style pics on your card and get them out to agencies / employers

also get yourself a basic web page
you can join sites like mine that give you a free page
www.starmaxim.com
and find up coming jobs there

hope that helps and good luck with your career!

Hi,

I think comp card (also called composite card, z card or sed card) is a marketing tool for actors and especially models. They serve as the latest and best of a model's portfolio and are used as a business card. A Z-CARD is also a folded leaflet format, typically used for marketing communications campaigns for example a loyalty programme or seasonal promotion. On the other hand my point of view "A model's portfolio - is a collection of the model's best, professionally produced photographs.
