Why did my fish die

We were having a birthday party and started having a food fight after evryone had went home i went to feed the fish only to find they were dead do you think that some of the food could have got in the tank and the fish eat them.

I thing that food might have got into the tank, and the fish had eaten. Or he might have died of old age. Or the water wasn't clean?
I had a beautiful fish and he/she died too. I'm so sorry

It is unlikely that food getting into the water would be the reason.

All animals and fish and things know naturally what food they can eat is good for them and what is bad for them.

So it is probably coincidence that the fish died when you had a good fight, it is more likely that they were either hungry and had not had enough fish food, or were ill, or old, or the water wasn't clean enough, often the oxygen content of the water being too low for the fish is a common reason for them dying when they are in little tanks in the house.

Um MAYBE some food got into the tank and the fish thought they were being fed so they swam to the top and couldn't find the food so they spent so long in the air that they couldn't breathe, and died. im very sorry.
or food could of just gone in there and ate it, which is probably why.

i am very sorry for your fish, may it sleep peacefully.
ps: it could of died of old age, which is just not nice is it?
