The flat figure just hangs down and a dress can look very unflattering if it does not suggest some lines and female curves. Therefore if you have a flat figure then you should be sure to add shape by forcing the material to cling to your shape. What this means in practice is adding a fairly tight belt at waist or just above waist level to ensure that the lines are right and show that you are a woman after all!
