Brown Patches On Japanese ACER......

Gardening : Growing Plants

I planted a JAPANESE ACER 4 weeks ago and there are brown patches mostly at the tips of each leaf,i have followed the planting instructions and watered as instructed,also the leafs are very dry,i would appreciate any comments made...

This can be caused if the acer has been planted in an exposed area where the wind can scorch the leaves. the reason for this is that leaves of your japanese maple [if you have a good look] are very fine and more suseptible to wind and weather damage so it woild be a good idea to maybe plant it in a more sheltered part of the garden or if it's in a pot, move it somewhere where it has some protection.
