Exam Technique: Read The Question
Education : Exams And Revision The most basic of all exam methods and the one that trips people up is this one, RTQ: Read The Question. Even experienced candidates do strange things under pressure, and in their undergraduate finals at university will right a great answer, only to read through again at the end in horror to realise that they haven't quite answered the right question! Therefore the message is clear: Read The Question carefully before you answer, and then read it again. Some people find it handy to highlight the key words in the question to keep them focussed on the answer. This is particularly useful with lengthier questions or essays worth several marks - no need to do it with quick one or two mark answers.
