Guide To Slogan Writing - IV

Hobbies : Competitions

A very funny and great way of writing winning slogans is to use what is known as the spoonerism.

These are harder to think of but can be hilarious and be the winner of a competition. Here you swap the first letter of two words round to change the meaning.

They are named after William Spooner who had some classic examples such as 'lets drink to the queer old dean' instead of the 'dear old queen'.

If you can think of a spoonerism related to a product then someone is going to have to work very hard indeed to beat you!

Another clever technique is the malapropism, where you use a word incorrectly but with funny consequences.

Again this is a great technique if used correctly and can help you win competitions with great slogans!
