Don't just send flirt messages or the one liners that show that you are apparently interested - these are one lame thing to do! If you really are interested then you should take the time to read the profile and write something decent and personalised, not just the same old line that you send to everyone that you read about. It doesn't have to be real prose or to challenge the great authors, but at least write enough to show that you have put some effort in and you might be pleasantly surprised at getting much better results!
