Prehistoric Medicine

Education : History

Medicine was very basic and not necessarily given on a scientific footing in prehistoric times.

Cures were often based on superstition surrounding spirits and mis-understandings of what caused each problem.

Treatments were often more dangerous than the illness, and could include:

- medicinal herbs
- trying to get rid of evil spirits
- using strange medicine men to yield potions and lotions
