Self Confidence And Facing Fears
Self Development : Confidence At the bottom of most people's lack of self confidence is a fear of something. Often it is fear of embarrassment, of making a fool of themselves, or a fear that they are not as intelligent as someone else and thus will appear stupid if they argue a certain way. For many, there is a fear at some level of not being liked by other people, therefore they want to appease them and won't argue against their viewpoints in case doing so risks alienating them from that person somehow. Therefore improving self confidence will virtually always involve facing, at some level, fears that you have. The first thing is to list down those fears, then try to explain to yourself the reason for each fear. Once you have written the list and reasons, examine them. Do those reasons make sense; are they rational? Just going through this process can be both therapeutic and help you realise many fears don't really make a lot of sense - giving you the confidence to tackle and overcome them.
