How To Solve Sequence Questions

Education : Maths

One of the best ways to solve sequence questions is to plug in different things and just see what happens.

For instance try taking away 1,2,3 adding it, multiplying and dividing and see what happens.

If the sign changes, remember you are probably multipling by a negative number at each term of the sequence.

If the numbers are increasing or decreasing by more that a steady unit each time, then you are multiplying or dividing at some stage rather than simply adding and subtracting.

By bearing these simple things in mind you give yourself an excellent chance of solving the questions without too much confusion setting in!
