Philosophy : Thought Experiments

The fact that we now know that there are billions and billions of other stars in the universe, no doubt with many millions of planets that can harbour life with a massive head start, we may reasonably wonder about this thought:

"Are we just pawns created for amusement in the game of some very advanced society?"

If you have worked out how to live to infinity and have superb abilities to manipulate the very fabric of the universe, then it may be easy to get bored. Perhaps to stay amused you would create beings and then watch over the years as they develop.

Of course there would be no way of telling. But imagine this were true - would you be bothered? Would it affect how you viewed and lived your life - if so why, and if not, why not?
