| Politics Trying to find out the politicies of the main political parties can be difficult. The BBC website has an election website that has a snapshot of the main policies of the different parties and this could be a good first start. If you are brave enough then there is a document called a manifesto which is a document containing the election promises of a party. These are weighty and dense documents, which are available in the run-up to an election from the websites of the major political parties. There is also debate about how much they should be trusted due to some high profile breaches of manifesto promises by the Labour Party since 1997, though generally they do form a good guide to the intentions of the parties.
